Commercial awareness for technical people

The aim of this one-day course is to expose the commercial context within which technical work is carried out.
It is to allow technical staff to understand how they fit into a larger picture, why they may be asked to undertake tasks that may not appear to be technical and the impact their interactions have within the commercial context.
Developing effective specifications

This one-day course enables end-users, technical experts, proponents, internal customers and other key stakeholders to work with procurement and contracting to develop effective and robust specifications and scopes of work, to ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes.

This interactive session, aims to provide basic hints and tips to address some of these key issues using Bruce Tuckman’s Forming, Storming Norming, Performing model.

My Skills My Life ambassador training

The My Skills My Life Ambassador training is a hands-on session designed to equip STEM professionals with the skills and confidence to deliver impactful outreach to young people, especially girls.
Participants learn how to use the My Skills My Life resource, develop inclusive and engaging sessions, and recognise themselves as role models who can inspire future STEM talent. The workshop also includes bias awareness, public speaking practice, and provides ambassador support and impact tracking.

These professional qualifications are peer-assessed and internationally recognised. The IET is licensed by the Engineering Council to assess applicants and award the following titles CEng, IEng, EngTech and ICTTech.
Project management techniques

Writing evidence for Professional Registration
EARLY / MID-CAREER | UK-SPEC: C,D,E | 4.5 HOURS | ONLINE OR IN-PERSON
This 4.5 hour live online course including a short break, is designed to support individuals who are ready to write their application for Professional Registration or those who are coaching an applicant on their written evidence to become Professionally Registered through the IET.
During this course delegates will learn how to create concise evidence to support competences. It also teaches applicants how to avoid revealing sensitive information.
By working with the competency framework set out and maintained by the Engineering Council, the UK-SPEC, this course
will take you through writing evidence to capture information that demonstrates the qualities and behaviours required to showcase an applicant's competence.
Working with a detailed case study, delegates will be able to extract the information needed for Professional Registration to ensure evidence is clear, concise and desensitised/declassified.
