Become a volunteer
Share your proven knowledge and skills through volunteering. There are many ways to give back to the engineering community, including supporting engineers through the registration process.
Focus on your management skills
CMI management routes
To be a successful manager, you need to strengthen your soft skills as well as your technical ability. Consider a CMI qualification or status, which will improve and verify your managerial skills.
Become a Fellow of the IET
Enhance your status within your Institution and business by applying for IET Fellowship.
International agreements
If you became professionally registered with an institution based outside of the UK, you may be able to apply for professional registration using a mutual recognition agreement between the IET and the other institution.
International registration
Chartered Engineers who are IET registered can apply for International Professional Engineer (IntPE) status, to help gain admission to registers outside of the UK.

From Monday, 3 November, we’re moving to one central phone number for all enquiries. This change will make it easier to reach the right team quickly and improve your experience.
