MIET membership

Annual membership fee - £197

If you’re working as a professional in the engineering industry and actively developing your knowledge and understanding of best practices, you can apply to become a member with MIET designatory letters.

You’ll be asked to show you meet our MIET criteria when you apply.

Criteria for IET Membership (MIET)

For our membership category for professional engineers, recognised under EU Directive 2005/36/EC, you’ll need to show you have the following qualifications and experience when you apply.

Three-stepped early career programme

If you have recently graduated, you can benefit from reduced rate fees as you start your career in engineering:

Year 1 - £20
Years 2, 3 and 4 - £65
Years 5 and 6 - £95
