Learning and development resources

Free technical resources

Ensure you keep up to date with the latest technological advances and industry information by browsing our free resources below - don’t forget that these can all count towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

For IET members, Career Manager is our online tool for capturing your CPD and if you would like to find out more about CPD, why it’s important, what counts as CPD and how our TWAVES framework can guide you, we have lots of information available on our website.

Training and skills development

Training is often a key part of professional development, helping you to learn new skills or develop existing ones to improve performance; it can also count towards your CPD (see above for more information about CPD).  We have a range of training options below, all of which are attended online.

Professional registration

If you aspire to become Professionally Registered, don’t delay – all our processes including the interview can be done online. We also have regular free webinars which provide guidance and connect you with an IET expert to help answer your questions.

Getting started on your registration journey couldn’t be easier,  our competence development support, via Career Manager, will help you work towards achieving professional registration in the category of your choice (CEng, IEng, EngTech, ICTTech), providing a structured pathway of guidance and communications to help you achieve your goal.

It’s free to join for IET members and you can begin by visiting our Career Manager web page and opt in to learn more by attending an online competence development workshop.

We’re upgrading our contact centre to make it quicker and easier for you to speak to the right member of our team.

From Thursday, 30 to  Friday, 31 October, our phone lines will be temporarily unavailable while we upgrade our systems. For any urgent enquiries during this time, please email membership@theiet.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

From Monday, 3 November, we’re moving to one central phone number for all enquiries - which will be 0333 049 9123. This change will make it easier to reach the right team quickly and improve your experience.

Thank you for your patience as we improve how we connect with you.
