What’s included?
- Bulk dataset of Inspec records from 1969 to present day – a snapshot of the database organised, by year, into smaller files
- Weekly data updates consisting of newly indexed records
- Updates delivered via SFTP data feeds
- Monthly deliveries of updated/amended records
- Supplementary files for the Inspec Thesaurus and Subject Classifications schemes
Inspec’s rich XML structure contains over 200 elements of metadata and includes a comprehensive set of linked entities such as author ORCID IDs, affiliation and funding identifiers, and citation data. Full documentation is provided.
A choice of Inspec data subsets (corresponding to our indexed subject areas) is also available, as is the Inspec Archive – an additional set of indexed research spanning the years 1898 to 1968.
Support services
Full documentation on the format and the contents of the database is provided. Customer support includes advice on available software, implementation of the system and optimum strategies for searching the file. Each year, subscribers receive a file containing the list of journals, Classification and Thesaurus data.
