Applying for professional registration
If you’re ready to apply for professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech) or ICT Technician (ICTTech), you’ll need to become an IET member first. You can apply online via the standard route, or if you're still currently serving, you may be eligible to apply via a Defence Engineer Registration Scheme (DERS).

To qualify for these rates, you need to apply for registration within two years of becoming a member.
Please note that the increased fee for paper applications does not apply to applications through the Defence Engineer Registration Scheme (DERS). Also, note this discount only applies to Service leavers whilst in the resettlement phase, or within a maximum of 3 months after leaving.
*50 per cent discount from the standard professional registration application fee.
Engineering Council Entrance and Annual Fees remain the same.
