Cassyni and Inspec partner to index engineering and technology research talks
Inspec users will discover Cassyni's editorially curated, DOI-linked research talks as an indexed content type, alongside journal articles, conference papers and books.
Cassyni and Inspec, the IET's abstracting and indexing database for engineering, physics and computing, are partnering to index Cassyni's research talks as a separate content type within Inspec. Researchers searching Inspec will surface video talks alongside the journals, conference proceedings and books they already rely on — citable, DOI-backed, and discoverable in the same workflow as the rest of the literature.
Inspec will index research talks from Cassyni's global library, which is published in partnership with leading journal publishers, learned societies and research institutions — including seminars, conference presentations and departmental colloquia. Editorially curated programmes come from Springer Nature, Elsevier, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Cambridge University Press, alongside talks from researchers at Stanford University, Imperial College London and Tsinghua University.
Ben Kaube, Co-founder, Cassyni said:
For Inspec users, the inclusion of research talks in the index unlocks a whole new source of rich and nuanced information. Seminars, conferences, and colloquia are the venues where the author explains the work in their own voice — often with detail that doesn't appear in the paper, from the experimental setup that didn't fit to the questions from the audience.
Our priority is making Cassyni-hosted research talks discoverable wherever researchers already look for trusted sources — and Inspec is one of the platforms that matters most for the engineering and technology communities.
Katharine Hancox, Senior Manager, Research Platforms, The IET added:
We are seeing growing demand for non-traditional outputs, including video among Inspec users, and a literature search increasingly needs to surface engaging multimedia content types as well as the paper. Indexing Cassyni's research talks lets us meet that demand with content of the editorial standard our users expect.
