Launch Scholarship

Applications will open in March 2023

For this scholarship you can be in any year of study, and you will receive £1,500 per year for up to four years.

Take a look at the criteria below to see if you are eligible to apply.

The criteria

  • For UK residents only
  • Open to part-time and full-time students
  • For students, degree apprentices and apprentices who have overcome personal obstacles or have financial need
  • Students can be in any year of a degree course that has been accredited by the IET. Please check the list of IET accredited programmes.
  • For Apprentices who have started or are already in any year of an IET accredited apprenticeship scheme - the apprenticeship must not end before September 2022
  • If you are in receipt of a Diamond Jubilee scholarship, you may only apply for a Launch scholarship if you are eligible

If you would like to fill in the application offline and then paste your answers to the online form you can open a word version. You will need to use the CTRL C & CTRL V options when copying back to the online form.

  • You’ll receive £1,500 per year for up to four years (paid in March each year)
  • You’ll be presented with a certificate by your donor at an awards ceremony and invited to attend workshops to learn more about the IET, your donor and how to get involved with the IET
  • Free IET Student membership during your course (if not provided by your university)
  • Opportunities to network with other engineers
  • Professional Development support
  • Become an ambassador for the IET and inspire young people to pursue engineering studies and STEM careers.
