I am a member with a non-member account. How can I convert it?

Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to convert a non-member account to a member account online.

Please contact our Member and Customer Services Centre quoting your IET membership number and the email address you use to log in.

How do I change my password?

Can I change my username?

To update your login details, please visit your IET account.

Here you can also manage your login credentials (email address and password) and multi-factor authentication (IET members only): select the Personal Details tab and follow the link to “Edit Login Details”.

Can I add/change my listed qualifications online?

It is not possible to add/change your listed qualifications online. Please contact our Member and Customer Service Centre for assistance with this. 

How do I change my communications preferences?

In your IET account you can change your communications preferences, email newsletter subscriptions and subject interests in the Preferences section.

How can I change my home/work address?

You can add or amend postal and email addresses in your IET account  under Personal Details. You can also contact our Member and Customer Service Centre

  • Adding or editing a postal address
    For most countries a postcode/zip code lookup function is available. Please enter your postcode to see a list of matching addresses. Make any necessary selection (e.g. of your house number). You can then make any corrections to the address before pressing the Save button to save it. 

    Use this process when either adding or editing an address.
