Before you search

Think about the type of job you’re looking for. Consider your:

  • qualifications
  • skills and qualities
  • experience and training
  • preferred location
  • the ideal salary you wish to earn (be realistic!).

Where to search

After you’ve updated your CV and covering letter with all the points above, it’s time to creating a short list of jobs you’d like to apply for. There are many places to look, here are a few suggestions to get you started:

  • individual companies
  • engineering & Technology Jobs
  • recruitment agencies
  • other professional bodies
  • Websites for specific user groups
  • newspaper, magazine and journal sites
  • sector skills council sites.
