The IET offers four main types of training: Technical courses covering specialist engineering skills, Professional development courses supporting with engineering career growth and development, and Lifeskills courses offering business skills.

Do IET courses count towards CPD?
Yes. All IET training courses contribute to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) you can record this in the IET’s CPD tool, Career Manager.
All courses are aligned to UK-SPEC competencies.
Are the courses delivered online, in person or both?
We offer a mix of online and in-person learning formats, with both shorter webinars and longer programmes over a few days.
All our online courses are live-virtual, helping you make the most of your training through interactivity with the course experts.

Courses are delivered by industry experts, sector specialists, and professional trainers with realworld engineering experience.
How do I choose the right course for my career goals?

Do I need to be an IET member to take a course?
No. IET training courses are open to everyone.
However, members will benefit from reduced rates on some courses, and Lifeskills courses are free for members.
Can I book courses for my whole team?
Yes. Organisations can book multiple places and benefit from group discounts.
We also offer in-company training where we bring the learning to you.
Will I receive a certificate after completing a course?
Yes. You will receive a certificate of attendance or completion, which can be used as evidence of CPD and professional learning.
How often are new training courses added?
New dates, new courses and updated content are added throughout the year.
You can browse all courses at any time or sign up for an IET account and select to receive marketing emails to receive updates about new courses by email.
What if I can’t attend the training after booking?
Most courses allow cancellations or transfers within a specified timeframe.
