IBC 2015: Venturing into the future

2015 promises to be an exciting year for IBC. Drones, disruptive technologies and virtual reality will be high on the agenda at IBC. Now in its seventh year, the IET has recently launched its prestigious Best of IET and IBC Publication, representing the best of almost 300 synopses submitted by authors from across the world as well as a selection of papers from The IETs’ Electronic Letters. While the digital media industry has been transitioning from traditional technologies and business models for some time, the past year has seen an acceleration of its pace.

The IET will launch its prestigious Best of IET and IBC Publication, now in its seventh year, which represents the best of almost 300 synopses submitted by authors from across the world as well as a selection of papers from The IETs’ Electronic Letters.

If you are attending IBC, you will be able to pick up a copy at our stand at the Partner’s Pavilion just outside Hall 5. You can download a copy from 11 September 2015.

The future of media in an age of disruption

With the rapid convergence of broadcast, IT and telecoms, this year’s conference theme ‘The Future of Media in an Age of Disruption’ provides the forum to explore new strategies, gain insight into business disruptors, chart future technological progress and examine how the industry can seize the new opportunities being created by the explosive growth in the consumption of TV and video content on smartphones, tablets and laptops.

 

VR, drones and disruptive technologies

Within the Future Zone at IBC visitors can check out technologies such as 360-degree capture for cinematic VR experience, depth-enhanced 2D and 3D parallax imaging and much more.

The rise in interest in aerial filming from UAVs has been astounding over the past twelve months, so there is a dedicated IBC Drone Zone

 

Hackathon

The IBC Hackfest for 2015 will bring coders from all over the world for 48 hours to help create innovative solutions and inventions.

Empowering young talent with bright ideas to take on new and exciting challenges and introduce them to the IBC world.
