The IET at Mobile World Congress 2017:

… the relentless convergence of mobile, big data, AI and AR technologies continues …

Covering the latest developments within the global telecoms industry, the IET has returned to Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona to capture news, views and content on film to inspire, inform and influence the wider engineering community.

“There’s a real buzz about MWC, this year,” says IET IT & Communications Lead, Ahmed Kotb. “Above and beyond, product launches for new handsets, connected devices and supporting infrastructure and innovations, brands are using MWC to showcase their interests across the innovation space from artificial intelligence to cyber security, from augmented and virtual reality to big data.”

Over 100,000 people will visit MWC over the next few days. Taking over the entirety of the stunning Gran Via complex, MWC 2017 is hosting over 2,200 exhibitors.

“Building on the collaboration of the IET and the Department for International Trade (DIT) at Smart Cities Expo World Congress, last November, and with the former UKTI at last year’s MWC show, we’re delighted to be here in Barcelona, partnering DIT, once again,” adds Kotb.

Watch out for Ahmed’s interview with Greg Hands MP, Minister of State in the Department for International Trade coming soon to IET.tv.
