Standard Telephones and Cables Limited (later STC PLC) was a British telephone, telegraph, radio, telecommunications and radar equipment manufacturer that operated from 1883 to 1991. During its existence STC employed many thousands of people and was involved in the development of several new technologies including pulse code modulation and fibre optics. This exhibition introduces the history of the company alongside developments in telecommunications technology.
