How to submit your journal paper

Step 1

Select a journal relevant to your research. Browse our journals on the IET Research hub.

Each journal includes an overview of the aims and scope under the “About” tab.

Step 2

Read the journal’s author guide to understand the submission requirements and format.

You will find the author guidelines for your chosen journal under the “Contribute” tab.

Step 3

Click on the “Submit your Manuscript” button. Create an account for the peer review system (or log in if you already have one).

Follow the instructions to submit your paper.

Peer Review Process

All articles submitted to IET journals go through a rigorous peer-review process to maintain and enhance the quality of the journal, and to help authors improve their manuscripts.

  1. Submitted manuscripts are sent to independent expert referees who provide constructive criticism and make recommendations on whether it’s ready for publication.
  2. Based on the reports, each journal’s editorial board will make the final decision.
  3. Authors may be asked to make revisions to their manuscript, add or remove material, or respond to points raised by the referees before the final decision is made.
