Prepare your manuscript with the journal’s author guide
Once you’ve selected your IET Journal, review its author guidelines. These are your go‑to reference for formatting, structure, referencing style, and submission requirements. You’ll find these under the journal’s Contribute tab.
These guidelines ensure your paper meets the essential criteria for peer review and helps streamline editorial handling.
Submit through our peer‑review management system
When your manuscript is ready, use the "Submit Your Manuscript" link on your chosen journal’s page. Create or log into your account in the peer‑review system, then follow the on‑screen prompts to upload your files and provide the necessary details.
The system also lets you track the progress of your submission throughout the review process.
What to expect during the peer-review process
All articles submitted to IET journals go through a rigorous peer-review process to maintain and enhance the quality of the journal, and to help authors improve their manuscripts.
- Submitted manuscripts are sent to independent expert referees who provide constructive criticism and make recommendations on whether it’s ready for publication.
- Based on the reports, each journal’s editorial board will make the final decision.
- Authors may be asked to make revisions to their manuscript, add or remove material, or respond to points raised by the referees before the final decision is made.
