It was with considerable shock and deep sadness that we have lost valued member of the IET healthcare panel, Chris Geary, earlier in July 2021. Chris was a trusted colleague, inspiring collaborator, and a dear friend.
His tangible contributions to digital health, interoperability, diagnostics, and engineering resilience won't be forgotten and his legacy will burn brightly in the numerous connections that he facilitated across multiple industry sectors.
A trusted leader – genuine and diligent – at whatever challenges he undertook. Chris was a great champion of innovation and innovators in health tech and was always a man to deliver on his promises.
He was wise, humble, energetic but most of all we will miss his wry yet warm sense of humour, and the optimism we shared for the role of technology and innovation in delivering improved healthcare outcomes for all.
On behalf of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Healthcare Sector and the wider IET, we would like to convey deepest condolences to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
