IET London: Savoy Place unveils cutting-edge 4k MicroLED video wall and four new event spaces for 2026

IET London: Savoy Place, the home of engineering and technology in the heart of the capital, has unveiled a major investment in its world-class facilities with the launch of a state-of-the-art MicroLED video wall and four brand new event spaces, now available to hire.

High-fidelity 4K MicroLED video wall transforms the Kelvin Lecture Theatre

Setting a new benchmark in AV innovation, Savoy Place has introduced one of London’s few 7m x 4m 4K native 10-bit 4:2:2 MicroLED video walls. Installed in the iconic 451-seat Kelvin Lecture Theatre, the new display provides a brighter, sharper and more immersive visual experience for all event types.

This next generation technology elevates conferences, hybrid events, product launches and high impact presentations with unparalleled clarity and colour accuracy. The venue has also upgraded its data infrastructure and power capabilities to support bespoke client setups, such as additional LED screens positioned alongside the main display. A new transparent lectern has also been added to preserve clear sightlines and maximise audience engagement.

The Platt Room

A versatile, naturally lit space designed for meetings, training, networking, exhibitions and more. Featuring a 110inch 4K wall mounted display and capacity for up to 80 guests, the room honours Baroness Beryl Platt, a pioneering aeronautical engineer and champion of gender equality in STEM.

The Shilling Room

An intimate and private space for up to six people, ideal for small meetings, interviews and presentations. Equipped with a 48inch HD display and smooth video conferencing, the room pays tribute to Beatrice Shilling, whose engineering innovations improved aircraft safety during the Second World War.

The Kao Room

Perfect for similar uses but with enhanced AV capability, the Kao Room offers a 55inch HD display and exceptional conferencing facility. Named after Sir Charles Kao, the Nobel Prize winning physicist known as the father of fibre optic communications.

The Partridge Room

Designed for small group sessions and early morning meetings, this eight-person space includes a 60inch HD display and advanced video technology. It celebrates Margaret Partridge, a trailblazing electrical engineer and founder of the Electrical Association for Women.

Ben White, AV Manager at IET London: Savoy Place, said:

“From the video wall to the new rooms, delivering the very best service complemented by the very latest technology is at the heart of what we do here at Savoy Place. As client expectations evolve, we continue to enhance our offering so we can meet their needs and take them further. As one of London’s leading events venues, our clients wouldn’t expect anything less.”
