The findings are for the use of MOD project managers acquiring systems for the MOD. The report includes guidance on organisation, management and responsibilities of the ISA and supervising managers. The requirements of the Defence Standards have been expanded in areas such as liability, depth of work, independence and competence. The report is also intended as generic guidance for ISAs and safety specialists that work with ISAs. Appendix A is formatted so that it can be used as stand-alone guidance.
