Support for mentors and mentees

If you or your mentee are working toward professional registration, you can download the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC) or ICTTech standard from the Engineering Council website. There is also detailed guidance for candidates who record competence evidence in IET Career Manager, the IET's online professional development tool.

The mentor guidebook covers the key information that you will require in order to undertake your role as a volunteer mentor.  It contains the mentoring guidelines for managing the relationship as well as some information on the competence requirements and expectations of your role.  Further information is also available in the volunteers handbook which is accessible via the volunteer gateway.

The mentee guidebook covers the key information that you will require in order to make a success of your mentoring relationship.  It contains the mentoring guidelines for managing relationship and information on how you can make the most of your mentor's time.  There are also some hints and tips on how to access other support from the IET.
