Training and skills development
Training is often a key part of professional development, helping you to learn new skills or develop existing ones to improve performance; it can also count towards your CPD (see above for more information about CPD). We have a range of training options below, all of which are attended online.
IET Academy
Academy courses are in-depth technical and professional e-learning training courses. These courses are delivered via our online learning platform which utilises the latest techniques to ensure the learning experience is interactive, engaging and lets you learn at your own pace.
These courses are developed in conjunction with expert content providers from academia and industry and can be purchased in short units or whole courses depending on which suits you best.

Professional registration
If you aspire to become Professionally Registered, don’t delay – all our processes including the interview can be done online. We also have regular free webinars which provide guidance and connect you with an IET expert to help answer your questions.
Getting started on your registration journey couldn’t be easier, our competence development support, via Career Manager, will help you work towards achieving professional registration in the category of your choice (CEng, IEng, EngTech, ICTTech), providing a structured pathway of guidance and communications to help you achieve your goal.
