The IET recognises that our members sometimes need a little extra help so we have developed key resources, privileges, discounts and other member support to enable you to maximise your membership.

Discounts

Members can benefit from up to 20 per cent off the cost of:

• Conferences, seminars and lectures;
• Professional development courses.

and 35 per cent off the cost of:

• IET books and Wiring Regulations publications.

Privileges

Members can take advantage of:

• Facilities at Savoy Place (London), including the library and computer access;
• Licensed access to barristers - the IET is an authorised licensed access client to barristers through the Bar Council. Although not specified, it is expected that members wishing to take advantage of this scheme must also be on the Engineering Council professional register;
• Passport applications - a Fellow, Member or Associate can countersign passport applications.

Scholarships

The IET rewards engineering aspirations, enterprise and excellence with a range of annual scholarships that could help you finance your studies or postgraduate research.

Reduced membership subscription rates

Reduced subscriptions are available to support members in certain circumstances who would normally be paying the full IET standard rate.

IET Connect

IET Connect is the IET benevolent fund and a separate registered charity, which helps members of the IET and their families.
