Recognising there are IT skills shortage in the UK the IET are conducting a skills survey to examine the IT related skill sets required by small and medium size enterprise (SMEs) in the UK.
The results from this survey will inform the development of new approaches to raise standards in the sector, encourage entrants into a career in software and systems engineering and to improve ways to support the initial and on-going training and skills development of existing professionals.
The IET will be working with partners across industry and academia to build practical tools and resources to help businesses like yours access the skills needed to stay competitive and keep our profession continually advancing.
For this survey, the IET is particularly interested in enterprises where IT is used as part of the systems for data acquisition, control and automation, communication, visualisation, etc., or for the modelling, design, production, testing and support of systems. We are particularly interested in enterprises working in the five sectors that the IET focuses on: Built Environment, Design and Production, Energy, Information and Communications and Transport.
