Peter Speroni
Member of the Transport Policy Panel
Originally from the telecommunications industry, Peter worked on the introduction of the first digital exchanges into the main UK network. He then went on to be the design manager for a worldwide data network with hubs across Europe, Asia and North America and the BT Global Service Centre in London’s Docklands.
Bringing his expertise into Highways and Transportation, Peter created the Surrey County Council’s Network Management and Information Centre in Leatherhead and introduced UTMC and many other Intelligent Transport Systems into the Authority.
In 2006 Peter joined Atkins as a senior consultant in their ITS group and worked on projects for a number of clients including the Highways Agency, Reading Borough Council and Dorset County Council.
In 2008 Peter accepted the position of Senior Manager with Dorset County Council to direct a large investment in ITS. A current task is to help prepare for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Sailing Events which will be held Weymouth and Portland.
