About the Author: John Ware is the Senior Engineer within the IET’s Standards and Compliance Department and is Secretary serving Panel B (Overcurrent and thermal effects) and Panel C (Electric shock) that report to JPEL/64 the Committee responsible for BS 7671: Requirements for Electrical Installations, the IEE Wiring Regulations. Previously he has worked for the NICEIC in the Standards department and for GEC Alstom in the nuclear industry during the construction and commissioning of Sizewell B.
