Education roles

Providing support for the IET's educational activities from our work in schools all the way through to university education.

Our volunteers support the IET in its vision to inspire the next generation of engineers and technicians through a number of activities in education.

Our Education 5-19 team runs an education service aimed at supporting teachers of science and technology and provides a range of curriculum support, resources and information for schools. We support partnerships organisations in the provision of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) resources and experiences for both teachers and students across the UK.

Our Accreditation and Awards department accredits over 1,000 undergraduate programmes at universities and colleges in the UK.  Accreditation visits are lead by groups of volunteers who make it possible for us to undertake this work.

You can become involved in the IET's education activities through the following roles:

Academic Accreditation Committee member

Academic Accreditor

Schools Liaison Officer

STEM Ambassador

IET On Campus helps university students to make a seamless progression into the workplace by developing their technical and soft skills, whilst forming strong links with industry. Both student and university staff volunteers are at the heart of the initiative.
