Join the new Technical Professional Network Communities Committee (TPN-CC)

The Board of Trustees has recently approved the formation of a dedicated Technical & Professional Network Communities Committee (TPN-CC). The TPN-CC will take responsibility for the strategic direction of TPNs, strengthening their technical output, financial decision making, and supporting the setup of new technical communities in emerging areas of engineering and technology.

We are searching for passionate individuals to fill a number of positions and various tenures. This will be a great opportunity to make an impact at a more senior level within the IET. There’s a variety of valuable skills and experience that the committee would benefit from, including, but not limited to:

  • strategy writing and implementation;
  • planning;
  • budgeting;
  • experience of interacting with TPNs (either through the committee or through attending events)

The time you dedicate to your role in this committee can also count towards your CPD hours.

To find out more about the benefits of getting involved please read our case study on Colin Arthur (current Chairman of the Communities Resourcing Committee).

What is a TPN?

TPNs are professional networks, run by members of the IET, focussing on technical areas of engineering and technology. Their purpose is to share knowledge on hot topics/developments within their respective fields. They achieve this by delivering events and generating content. They also offer great networking opportunities.
