Based in Pakistan, Hamza Waseem is currently studying electrical engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
Hamza’s been busy volunteering – helping organise the latest Lahore Science Mela and leading a group of engineering student working on the design of low-cost STEM education experiments. He’s also been giving some thought to his senior year project and begun applying for summer internships.
This summer Hamza helped launch a science writing and editing virtual internship program for students. In addition he's helping develop a team of undergrads that will undertake local science outreach work.
Hamza has launched his university’s first ever science and engineering student magazine. He’s also discovered a passion for physics and has worked hard to try and source a summer research placement.
Hamza discusses his extra-curricular activities with the Khwarizmi Science Society and how he had the opportunity to be involved in the development of a very special STEM festival.
