IET Malaysia Network help frontliners tackle COVID-19

IET Malaysia has co-organised the project as well as providing technical support and product improvement for the project as technical partners. The 3D printed face shields are made of two parts; 3D face shield brackets and a PVC replacement. The face shield brackets can be washed and reused. The face shields are eco-friendly, safe to use and easily stored.

So far, more than 400 3D face shield brackets and 7000 PVC replacements have been shipped to hospitals and organisations across Malaysia. Some of these include Hospital Lam Wah Ee, Angkatan Pertahanan Awam and Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim. Our IET Malaysia representatives have been working hard to deliver the face shields to hospitals to help those on the front line.

Thank you to all our hardworking volunteers in our IET Malaysia Network. If you’re part of an IET Local Network or volunteer for the IET, especially in the international response to combat COVID-19, then we’d like to share your story. Email us at membernews@theiet.org.
