Our Disciplinary Regulations ensure that, in the small number of allegations against members, we investigate them thoroughly and adjudicate upon them transparently.
Our Rules of Conduct are a key part of how we ensure a member’s relationship with other members, the IET and the public. The last major update to both documents was in 2017 when the disciplinary process was modernised to reflect best practice.
As part of our annual review of both documents, we have considered the current Guidance for Institution Codes of Professional Conduct from the Engineering Council. This has resulted in changes to both the Rules of Conduct and the Disciplinary Regulations. Members are encouraged to review both documents.
