Mainstreaming the Internet of Things to be explored at IET India IoT Congress

With less than two weeks to go, the IET’s premier Congress on the Internet of Things returns later this month to gather together thought leaders from business, science and industry around the theme of ‘Mainstreaming the Internet of Things.’

This year’s Congress will see over 100 speakers covering topics including precision farming in agriculture, how commercial entities can play a part in the military’s defence roadmap, digital communications connectivity, predictive energy management, hospital management and primary care in remote locations, Hyper Aware systems in manufacturing, omnichannel accessibility in retail, skills and development requirements for future technologies, smart city operations and the standards required to converge IoT related technologies.

Speakers include Shri Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, Sir Robin Saxby, Founder and former Chief Executive of ARM Holdings, Dr Rishi Bhatnagar, Chairman, IET IoT Panel, President, Aeris Communications, Dr Gopichand Katragadda, Ex-Chief Technology Officer, Tata Sons and Founder and CEO at Myelin Foundry, IET President, Mike Carr and IET Chief Executive, Nigel Fine who will officially open the 4th edition this year.

There will also be over 50 exhibits and practical workshops for industry practitioners to explore and gain insights on key components of a typical real-world IoT application.

Since the ‘Platform of Platforms’ for the Internet of Things was first launched in 2015, the event has grown from strength to strength to support the IoT ecosystem and encourage new IoT endeavours. This year is no exception with the launch of PoP 91 Innovation Challenge where around 600 teams have participated in this unique contest to find an implementable solution using IoT technology to a real-world challenge. The event concludes with Thought Leadership Awards that recognise and reward technology leaders who have made remarkable contributions in the field of technology.
