IET re-accredits BTech programmes at Amity University, India

Amity University completed its first cycle of accreditation during the year 2012-2013 and applied for re-accreditation in 2017-2018. After rigorous assessment and audit, the university has implemented numerous changes in its academic practices, as recommended by the IET Accreditation panel.

The panel included senior IET accreditors from the UK including Professor Andy Downton, Chair of the IET Accreditation Panel, who visited Amity University’s Noida, Lucknow and Dubai campuses with other panel members and IET staff.

Following the panel’s recommendation, the following programmes were accredited:

  • Tech Aerospace Engineering, BTech Computer Science and Engineering (Noida, Lucknow and Dubai campus)
  • Tech Electronics and Telecommunications, BTech Nanotechnology (Noida and Dubai campus)
  • Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, BTech Mechanical Engineering (Noida and Lucknow campus).

The re-accreditation will impact student intake from 2016-2020 and, by completing this process, Amity Noida and Lucknow campus have become an IET Academic Partner, joining the network of 85+ IET Academic Partners globally. A further mentoring visit is scheduled by the IET in the 2019-2020 academic year, which will enable the panel to determine the extension of the accreditation.

Shekhar Sanyal, Director and Country Head, IET India, said: “Amity University has been working with the IET for over eight years and this re-accreditation is a testimonial to their commitment and efforts to staying updated and relevant in a fast-changing environment The IET Accreditation is a benchmark of international quality and we at the IET are positive about the benefits that the faculty, students, alumni and the institution will reap as an outcome of this accreditation.”

Shekhar went on to say: “We look forward to continuing the support to them in this journey and I wish them every success in their endeavours.”
