The rapid growth of renewables is being driven by higher power demand, diversification needs and pollution concerns and is shifting to emerging markets like China. Increasingly, affordable renewables are set to dominate the growing power systems of the world in the coming years.
The Renewable Power Generation (RPG) conference series aims to bring together world-leading researchers, academics, industry and business leaders to meet and share the most advanced information, technologies and latest research results in the renewable power generation sector.
The 8th IET Renewable Power Generation Conference (RPG 2019) will return to China on 24-25 October 2019 and is being co-organised by the IET and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
International keynote speakers to be confirmed so far include Professor Yilu Liu, Deputy Director of CURENT (Center for Ultra-Wide-Area-Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Networks) Engineering Research Centre, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA; Professor Chanan Singh, a Regents Professor and Irma Runyon Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Texas A&M University, USA, and Professor Yunwei (Ryan) LI from the University of Alberta, Canada.
Topics to be explored include integrating renewables and maintaining grid reliability, how future electrical grids can be enabled by power electronics technologies and grid edge time-synchronous measurement and applications.
