New exhibition to celebrate Women in Engineering opens at IET London: Savoy Place

Located in the Watson Watt and Mountbatten rooms for the next 12 months, visitors can explore the posters and exhibits which feature women in engineering and their contribution to the field. The Watson Watt exhibition takes a retrospective look back through the archives at the rich history of women in engineering, celebrating the trailblazers, women on the move and the engineering and technical discoveries made by women.

The exhibit in the Mountbatten room showcases modern day discoveries and celebrates current female engineering role models. The case studies displayed demonstrate the breadth of engineering careers available today.

The new exhibition unveiling coincides with Ada Lovelace Day, which was launched in 2009 and has been celebrating the achievements of women in technology ever since. It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM and create new role models who will encourage more young people, especially girls, into engineering careers. Anyone attending the ticketed Ada Lovelace Day Live event taking place at IET London: Savoy Place will be among the first to see the new exhibition.
