The IET and the China Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) have signed agreements on general cooperation and professional registration. The signing ceremony took place at IET London: Savoy Place on 31 August 2018 with representatives from both the IET, including IET President Nick Winser and IET Chief Executive and Secretary Nigel Fine, and CSEE President Mr Zheng Baoseng in attendance. Under the agreements, both parties agree to work together on professional registration, international events and publications.
Both parties will work together to standardise the overall competency measurement, recording and registration procedure for engineers who are pursuing professional registration status and to raise the international competitiveness of Chinese engineers through a globally recognised certification and registration process.
The agreement also promotes the sharing of best practice on professional standards, registration, continuous professional development (CPD) and intercultural communication in the engineering world.
IET President Nick Winser, IET Chief Executive and Secretary, Nigel Fine, IET Head of International Operations Ian Mercer and Dick Bacon, IET Professional Development Manager attended the meeting and signing ceremony together with CSEE President Mr Zheng Baoseng, Deputy President and Secretary General Mr Xie Mingliang, Director of the International Department Mr Zhao Jianjun and other CSEE representatives.
