IET Young Professionals Community Committee volunteers

We would like to thank all of our IET volunteers for the important contribution you make.

Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting IET activities around the world.  In the lead up to International Volunteers Day on 5 December 2017, the IET is launching a series of social media posts to celebrate the great and varied work its 4,400 volunteers do to make a difference.

There are more than 40 different volunteering roles that support IET activities and make a difference for IET members and the engineering community. These roles cover everything from IET Governance and providing expertise through an IET Policy Panel that informs Government or in a knowledge area such as events and standards, to supporting STEM education initiatives including the IET Faraday Programme.

Throughout 2017, IET Young Professionals Community Committee volunteers have continued to support students and Young Professionals around the world – from running a Leadership programme in Western Australia to creating IET On Campus groups in new locations. IET volunteers have also helped to make this year’s IET Present Around The World competition the biggest yet by engaging with students and Local Networks in 25 countries.

IET volunteers work closely with the IET’s Professional Registration process by mentoring, interviewing and assessing engineers who want to take the next career step and become professionally registered.

We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their continued support and commitment throughout 2017. Please look out for the #IETvolunteers hashtag on the @theIET social media platforms.
