The latest edition of IET News is now available to watch on IET.tv.

IET News presenter, Yasmin Ali, fronts the latest edition of IET News and shares an update on some of the latest IET activities.

Back in February, the IET Diamond Jubilee and Engineering Horizons Bursary recipients had the opportunity to meet with their donors at a special awards ceremony at IET London: Savoy Place. Nominations are now open for 2018 on the IET website.

The IET has teamed up with other professional engineering institutions to develop a joint response to the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy Green paper. IET members were invited to attend one of the workshops that took place across the country last month to share their views and provide input into the response.

March also saw student teams take part in the FIRST® LEGO® League UK and Ireland final. B6 Berrellium, a team from Cambridge, were announced the victors and will go on to compete in the Open European Championships in June. Robotics is one of the five categories listed in the IET International Engineering Photography competition. Entries are open until the end of August. The winning images will be unveiled at Engfest 2.0.

We also hear from Jenni Sidey, past winner of the IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year award. To mark International Women’s Day, entries are now open for this year’s competition.

Finally, there is still time to register for this year’s IET Members Annual Information Event, which will be taking place on 16 May 2017 at IET London: Savoy Place. In addition to the AGM, which will also be streamed live on IET.tv, a Reception hosted by the IET’s Board of Trustees will take place after the presentations.
