We’ve refreshed our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy
In 2018, we launched our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy in which we outlined our commitment to EDI and our main focus areas.
To ensure we remain relevant and inclusive, we have refreshed our EDI strategy to better highlight our achievements so far and the steps we aim to take in our future commitments. We will drive real change via our diversity efforts, ensuring we embed EDI policy throughout the institution and maintain excellence in all that we do.
At the IET, we want to ensure we recognise and celebrate our diverse community and their contributions to our 150-year-old institution. As one of the leading engineering institutions we will use our position to advocate EDI in engineering. This will bring real change and help us work towards solving the engineering skills shortage.
Although currently, the strategy focus is UK-centric, we want to ensure that we represent our entire membership base and the countries in which we operate. We continue to encourage all of our volunteers to get involved with activities that help to support and embed our strategy. Our guiding principles remain focused on inclusion and celebrating the achievements of engineers and technicians from diverse backgrounds, globally.
