What are TPNs?
TPNs are an integral part of the IET’s strategy. Their aims include: providing high-level technical content; supporting the IET's knowledge portfolio; and giving members important networking opportunities. They are specialist communities led by executives that generate activities, such as physical events and online discussions, to support the understanding of engineers working within their respective sector. As well as helping the IET to stay ahead of the curve, they can also help participants raise their professional profiles and extend their professional networks.
What do we look for in a TPN Executive?
An individual who is passionate about their field of work and wants to be more engaged. Someone who wants to extend their existing knowledge of the topic area and share their own personal knowledge and experience with others.
What are the benefits?
By becoming a TPN Executive, you will be able to:
- achieve wider recognition within your field
- gain more awareness of recent developments
- network and make new connections
- count your activity towards CPD
- be affiliated with a professional international body.
Meet Peter Bannister - a TPN Executive case study
Peter is the past chairman of the Healthcare Network. Find out about his experience and how he has benefited from working with the IET.
“I support Peter’s work as HTN chair as it provides opportunities for strategic leadership that complement his role at Asalus. The time commitment is relatively minimal and often doubles as networking and CPD. His work with the TPN brings added value to Asalus by putting the company on the same platform as established multinational companies whose employees also work with the IET.”
- Dr Dominic Griffiths, Managing Director at Asalus Medical Instruments
