S1080 - Aviation 2050, The future of UK aviation

The objectives of the strategy are to:

  • help the aviation industry work for its customers
  • ensure a safe and secure way to travel
  • build a global and connected Britain
  • encourage competitive markets
  • support growth while tackling environmental impacts
  • develop innovation, technology and skills

The first step in the process of developing the strategy was the publication of an initial call for evidence in July 2017 on the strategy’s aims and objectives. The government then published a ‘next steps’ document in April 2018 which set out some of the specific issues to be considered as part of the policy development process.

This consultation will form part of the government’s final consultation on the policy proposals for the Aviation Strategy. It is structured around the original objectives of the strategy, updated to reflect the feedback that the government has received to date on their relevance and priority.

Please view the original government consultation paper.
