If anyone has any experience in self-certifying a product for ATEX Zone 2 compliance, I would be interested to pick your brain.

We are trying to develop a niche data acquisition system and need it to comply with ATEX Zone 2 standards. The production volume is small (~200 units total), so we are trying to find a way to get certified that is cost effective.

The consultation we have had are from folks that seem to have experience in large volume applications ( >1000 units sold per year).

If anyone has any stories, advice or references, that would extremely useful and appreciated.
