What seems ages ago I ordered the new I.E.T. publication, "Guide to Consumer units". I thought that I had dreamt ordering it as it has not arrived.

But,

I have just been told that it is due to be sent out in January 2017.

Bye,

Z.

About a week before another amendment is announced no doubt!

18th Edition is 2018, so maybe that will be released mid-2017 - or, will any amendments come into force in July 2018, giving us 6 months to digest the new Regs?

Need more guides.

Simple rules are difficult to follow.

(They're probably still trying to decide what non-combustible means)

Oh where oh where is my new book? Where is my book? I feel let down and am desperate for it. I was sooooooooooo looking forward to reading it, especially the section about TT earthing and metal boxes.

the authors could have dropped in here for inspiration.
The IET's new Guide to Consumer Units provides expert advice on how to meet the new requirements.
The guide dispels common myths and helps to clear up any confusion regarding how new, often metal, consumer units meet the regulations and what other factors need to be taken into consideration.

Publication Status: Cancelled before print

Or there is always the possibility that only one person pre-ordered it, and a print run was deemed un-economic just for him.
I wonder if any text was actually generated, perhaps it should be made into notes or a wiring matters article.

I can't remember if I pre-paid for this book. Could I have been the only one that pre-ordered it? Or couldn't the issues be resolved and agreed so that the book just could not be written and released?

I am SSSSOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo sad.

It's okay, you have a new 18th Onsite Guide as a consolation and it will have all the relevant information in it.

If you can stand the awful format (come back Vitalsource, all is forgiven), its available on the Standards+ online thingy. Doesn't look a bad publication actually....
