Well in previous years by now I have tagged my few words onto someone else's thread but as it is very quiet, I'll start the ball rolling as it were. All the best, seasons greetings to all, and hopefully not too many turkey sandwiches left by mid January.

Mike.

Merry Christmas too!! Great forum - great topics - but I still believe that Mike makes up lots of his posts with the figures!

Hope 2018 is a good one for everyone... guess we'll have to sit back and see what happens to this country!

All the best!!

regards - Tom

Wishing you all a Happy New Year - undoubtedly the best forum in the industry. Logically, undoubtedly the best contributors.
We are indebted to each other.

Happy new year to everyone.

I might not contribute as much as I would like but I have not missed a single post in ten years.

Always learning but it is getting harder with years to remember what I have learnt.

All the best

Well it says a lot about this old codger when at 7.30pm on New Year's Eve that he is trolling this forum. On the otherhand maybe it says a lot about this great forum. Happy new year to all!

If I can just tag this on to this festive post before it's too late I'd like to say something about Christmas crackers.

It occurred to me this year for the first time just how much waste they create. What happens to a cracker a few hours after it's been pulled? It all goes in the bin with the exception of the odd plastic novelty toy that hasn't fallen apart.

An average size cracker weighs around 30 grams so if we estimate that everyone in the UK pulled just one cracker then around 3645 tons of waste needs to be processed with all the associated energy needs.

Just a thought.

All the best to everyone for 2018.

It may be late, but I had other thing to do until now - Happy New Year one and all.

Remember when all the resolutions are forgotten, to hang on to your sense of humour.
