About this event

The presentation will cover the following topics:

-         Semiconductor technology develops at a tremendous pace, driving the IT revolution;
-         Power Semiconductors is generally not at the forefront of using the finest technology (sub-micron, UV line widths, etc.), hence a “poor relation”.
-         It is also the “trouble maker” in the family (as a poor relation often does), in causing huge amount of heat dissipation.
-         Yet it is one of the few areas in semiconductors where “physics” is still the driving force for innovation, therefore interesting to work in.
-         Some examples of the driving forces for innovation in Power Semiconductors – size and weight of appliance (related to heatsinking), Environment..
-         Some examples of projects WeEn Semiconductors are currently working on.
-         New technologies such as SiC and GaN
