About this event

Guizhou has a total area of 176,167 sq. km and situated in the mountainous part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in Southwest China. Besides traditional industries like mineral mining, tobacco and wine production, Guizhou provincial government is spearheading in the building of cutting-edge industries in the recent years. Big data technology, pharmaceutical, semiconductors, and aircraft industries are their main focuses.

The tour organized by the MIES would include the visit of Guizhou Association of Science and Technology, technology related visit would focus on two major achievements of the country: the big data technology center and the world’s biggest “Five hundred meter aperture spherical telescope” (FAST) with nickname of “Tianyan”. Researcher quoted that FAST would search for gravitational waves, detect radio emissions from stars and galaxies and listen for signs of intelligent extraterrestrial life. Participants would have the opportunity to witness the newly advancement of technologies in China. Other part of the tour would comprise visits to local industrial enterprises of pharmacy and automobiles manufacturing.

Programme

Preliminary Itinerary – detail itinerary may be changed according the local arrangement

Day 1 Coach from Hong Kong and Shenzhen airport. Take afternoon flight to Guiyang after lunch. Reference flight: CZ3435 (14:20 – 18:20). Stay at hotel in Guiyang city after dinner.
Day 2 Go to Pang Tang (travel time is about 3 hours). Visit the world’s biggest “Five hundred meter aperture spherical telescope” (FAST) with nickname of “Tianyan” after the lunch. FAST was completed and opened to public in September 2016. FAST area includes the observatory, astronomical experience hall and culture park. On the way back to Guiyang city, visit the Qingyan ancient town and the old military fortress. Stay at the hotel in Guiyang city.
Day 3 Visit the Science and Technology Association of the Guizhou province after the breakfast. After the lunch, visit the Big Data Application Center, and the Guiyang High Tech Development Region. Tour high technology industrial enterprises in the industries of automobile and pharmacies. Stay at the hotel in Guiyang city.
Day 4 Visit the inhabited village of Miao community after breakfast (travel time is about 3.5 hours). Enjoy the ethnical style of Miao and taste the delicate cuisine of the Miao culture. Stay at the Miao village in the night time. 
Day 5 Back to Guiyang city after breakfast. Coach to Guiyang airport after lunch. Fly to Shenzhen then back to Hong Kong by coach. Reference flight: CZ3667 (16:00-17:35). The tour finish in Hong Kong.
