Continuing the series of lectures on Electric vehicles - the journey from power station to wheel, this evening lecture reflected on the Electric Vehicle (EV) trials in the North East and explored future scenarios for EVs.

Speakers covered issues including:

  • All electric, hydrogen, hybrid – where should the focus be for low carbon transport;
  • Future scenarios for EVs in the North East;
  • Potential growth and realistic take up of EVs in the UK;
  • What are the drivers for change?

There was also a facilitated panel discussion on the future of low carbon transportation featuring representatives from a local authority and an infrastructure manufacturer.

The lecture was chaired by Professor Phil Blythe from the University of Newcastle. Other speakers included Dr Colin Herron, Zero Carbon Futures and Dr Yvonne Huebner, University of Newcastle.
