William James Award

For Biomedical Engineering

What is it? 

Recognising and rewarding outstanding work in the field of research and development in biomedical engineering.

The William James Award recognises outstanding work in the field of Healthcare Technologies. This Award has been instated by Dr Christopher J James, of Southampton University, in honour of his late father. The William James Award is presented to encourage and support PhD research that shows the most potential to contribute toward the development and improvement of the biomedical engineering field, whilst also encouraging high quality papers.

Eligibility: The William James Award is open to all PhD students in the field of Biomedical Engineering.

Prize: The winning entrant will receive a prize of £200, a plaque and a certificate of recognition.

Deadline: To ensure your participation please send in all nominations by 25 July 2008.

Presentation

The Award will be presented at the IET Annual Healthcare Technologies Lecture, a great platform upon which to showcase your work to a distinguished audience.  This will be held in December 2008 at the IET, Savoy Place, London.

This award is organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s Healthcare Technologies Network.
