The IET has launched the Volunteer Talent Support project to make sure the way we support our volunteers is best in class and that we have a strong staff team to meet that challenge.
Volunteers are at the heart of the IET and key to the delivery of our long-term strategy. We are therefore working on a ‘Volunteer Talent Support’ project to make sure the way we support our volunteers is best-in-class and to ensure we have a strong staff team to meet that challenge.
From 6 November, the project will examine and enhance the way we recruit, train, support, communicate with, and recognise our volunteers. It will be a long-term improvement process starting with a survey to make sure we all understand how well we currently do these things and to identify areas for development. This will form the benchmark against which we will prioritise our actions and measure our success.
The project is being directly overseen and steered by the ‘Volunteer Talent Support Working Party’, a joint volunteer/staff group, led by Trustee Virginia Hodge. It is also supported by and reports regularly to the Nominations and Succession Committee and the Board of Trustees.
Regular updates will be available through-out the project on our web page and we welcome your input at every stage. We can be contacted via email.
