The Greenpower Education Trust’s vision is to inspire more young people to become engineers.
Volunteering with Greenpower is a great way to get involved with an exciting charity. There is a role available for you whether it’s your first time getting involved or you’ve taken part before as a competitor.
Greenpower inspires young engineers by providing science, technology, engineering & maths (STEM) enrichment through a programme of building and racing sustainably powered kit cars.
Volunteering roles are available throughout the competition, either as a mentor for a team, judging or scrutineering the cars on race days or acting as an ambassador for the programme in your area.
If you are interested in any of these roles please contact Mike Howell, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ambassadors represent and promote Greenpower in their local region by talking to junior, secondary and 6th form schools/colleges, businesses. You may also be asked to represent us at events and shows as and when required as well as liaising with and supporting schools who engage with Greenpower.
The role is on-going and you must be based in the UK.
Working with a Greenpower Check Sheet, your role would be to ensure that all entries comply with Greenpower build and safety regulations for the sake of fair play and safety.
Further duties include ensuring safety of all participants during the race both on track and in the pit lanes, ensuring teams comply with regulations in the pits, and, if needed, helping to recover participating vehicles in the event of a breakdown.
Scrutineers and Track Marshalls are needed at the various events taking place around the UK. For specific dates please download the PDF which can be found in the 'See also' box above.
Greenpower award prizes based on varying criteria including Best Bodywork, Greenest Bodywork, Best Turned Out Team, The Spirit of Greenpower Award and a Portfolio Award.
