DiRT has to be the best of the Colin Macrae series to date. A very stylised game in its design, even the menus are funky, and we loved the music too! The menus are very Ridge Racer-esque, however the game is everything you’d expect from the off-road racer, but with the most amazing supped-up graphics the series has seen so far. Honestly, the in-game graphics are just as spectacular as the FMV, and the detail of your car’s damage if you smash into a tree is amazing!
There’s different modes including Career, Championship and of course the chance to kick your mate’s butt in Multiplayer, and there’s so much to it you’ll be occupied with completing the game still by the end of your summer hols. It’s also very accessible, but the downside is that the controls do take a little bit of getting used to, even if in the easy mode. They could have done with being a little less sensitive perhaps, but you’ll enjoy this game so much that in time we’re sure you’ll master them.
We reckon…
