Wario: Master of Disguise
A review of the new Wario DS game.
Nintendo, £29.99 (TBC)
DS, Out June 1st
Rating: 10+
If you’re looking for a fun, wacky game to play on your DS the look no further than Wario’s latest adventure. His games have always been a little on the kooky side, but this one brings together a real mix of a gaming types that’ll have you hooked for sure.
Master of Disguise is a colourful platformer of types, which has you play as Wario, who’s zapped himself into the TV to get his mitts on a wand called Goodstyle. This magic talking stick gives him disguises, and the more gems you feed him, the more disguises you can get to help you work through each level – or TV episode that is – collecting treasure, completing mini-games and searching for the ultimate prize; an ancient artefact that grants wishes.
It really has got a bit of everything; the mini-games offer a good variety and you use the touch screen to swap between your outfits, in order to beat the obstacles in your path. In total you can collect seven outfits which include Cosmic, Artist and Thief Wario, all with their own skills like huge jumps and laser blasters. A top game, which isn't too challenging, but enjoyable all the same. Definitely check this out!
We reckon…
4 stars
